Spotify has a range of audio quality options to suit your device, plan, and preferences.
Music quality
You’ll need to be a Spotify Premium user to adjust your volume levels, and you’ll have to set this individually on each device you use. On Android/iOS, pull up Spotify’s settings (Your Library. Spotify mobile detects when you change your volume on your phone, which prevents you from adjusting ringer volume and navigation volume for example, when logged into the application. I dont seem to believe that this would be phone specific. My navigation volume is normally 10x louder than any song I've ever listened to. It can be a real problem. At Spotify, we’re often testing and launching improvements and new features. This means you might see something on the app your friend doesn’t, or get a new feature to try temporarily. Note: You can’t change audio settings when using Spotify Connect to play on another device.
You can have different settings for listening online (streaming quality) or offline (download quality).
Higher streaming quality uses more data, and higher download quality uses more space.

Podcast quality
Podcast quality is equivalent to approximately 96kbit/s on all devices except the web player where it’s 128kbit/s.
On mobile/tablet, if you change the music quality to low, the podcast quality will also lower to approximately 24kbit/s.
